The 2nd US Media Delegation of 2011 Visits China

      At the invitation of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the 2nd US Media Delegation of 2011 composed of 6 members sponsored by the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation of the Hong Kong SAR and organized by the BLJ Company of the U.S. visited Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Deyang successively from July 17 to 28. During their visit in Beijing, Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC and Founding Chairman of the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation of the Hong Kong SAR, Mr. Xu Kuangdi, former Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, Mr. Yu Keping, Deputy Chief of Central Compilation and Translation Bureau, Mr. Geng Yansheng, Director of the Information Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense and Spokesperson of the Ministry, Mr. Wang Yongping, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Railways, Amb. Chen Yonglong, Vice President of the CPIFA, Mr. An Gang, the counselor of the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Hu Zhengrong, Vice President of Communication University of China respectively met with or hosted banquets in their honor. Military experts from the Ministry of National Defense, professors and students from Beijing University and Communication University of China respectively had roundtable discussions with the delegation. During their visit in other cities, Prof. Ge Jianxiong, a member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC and the library curator of Fudan University and Mr. Yang Jiemian, President of Shanghai Institute for International Studies respectively met with them. The delegation visited Hanwang Town of Deyang City in Sichuan, observing the reconstruction situation after the earthquake. The two sides exchanged views on Sino-American relations and reconstruction after the earthquake in Sichuan province.
