The 11th China-ROK Elite Forum Held in Beijing

The 11th China-ROK Elite Forum was held in Beijing on Aug. 30th, co-sponsored by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the 21C Korea-China Leader's Society (21C KCLS). The ROK Delegation, led by Mr. Kim Han Kyu, President of 21C KCLS, attended the forum and visited Yunnan Province afterwards. Amb. Yang Wenchang, President of CPIFA, Amb. Lu Shumin and Amb. Cai Jinbiao, Vice Presidents of CPIFA, Ms. Chang Sang, senior member of the ROK Democratic Party and Mr. Cho Won Jin, assemblyman from the ROK Grand National Party attended the forum. Mr. Xu Jialu, former Vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and senior advisor of CPIFA as well as H. E. Mr. Lee Kyu Hyung, ambassador of ROK to China addressed the opening ceremony.
Well-known scholars and experts from both sides had a candid and in-depth discussion on economic and trade cooperation as well as strategically mutual trust between China and ROK, achieving fruitful results and consensus.
During the visit, Ms. Chen Zhili, Vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of NPC, Ms. Zhang Meiying, Vice-chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Mr. Zhang Zhijun, Executive Deputy Governor of the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province met with the delegation respectively.
The China-ROK Elite Forum was jointly founded by CPIFA and 21C KCLS in 2001 and alternatively hosted in China and ROK every year. Serving as an exchange channel for elites and experts from both sides, the forum makes great contribution to deepening the mutual understanding and cooperation between China and ROK.
