Tony Blair Visits China

At the invitation of CPIFA, Mr. Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of UK, visited China from 26 to 30 August 2011. Vice Premier Wang Qishan, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Mr. Liu Binjie, Minister in charge of the General Administration of Press and Publication, Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying and Ambassador Yang Wenchang, President of CPIFA, met with Mr. Blair. The two sides exchanged views on China-UK relations, world economic and financial situation, European sovereign debt crisis and the Middle East and North Africa. Mr. Blair also attended Dialogue with the World at CCTV co-sponsored by All-China Youth Federation, CPIFA and CCTV 9. In the two-hour programme, Mr. Blair shared his experiences in political career with an audience of around 80 university students and answered their questions. He launched the Chinese edition of his memoir A Jounery: My Political Life in Beijing as well.
