Vice President Lu Shumin attends the international symposium on Asia in the Next Decade in Bangkok

       At the invitation of Saranrom Institute of Foreign Affairs Foundation (SIFAF), Amb. Lu Shumin, Vice President of CPIFA attended the international symposium on Asia in the Next Decade in Bangkok from August 24 to 25. Around 300 people participated the symposium, including H.E. Mr. Shaukat Aziz, Former Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Ricardo Lagos, Former President of the Republic of Chile, H.E. Dr. Alfred Cusenbauer, Former Chancellor of Austria, H.E. Dr. Aleksander Kwasniewski, Former President of the Republic of Poland, Honorable Jose de Venecia, former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of the Philippines and well known scholars, celebrities as well as entrepreneurs. Mr. Lu Shumin delivered a keynote address on Adhering to the Asian Spirit of Openness, Inclusiveness and Win-Win Cooperation to Jointly Create an Asian Century of Peace, Harmony and Sustained Development. The delegation also met with H.E. Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, President of SIFAF, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand, Mme. Cholchineepan Ciranond, newly appointed Director of the Saranrom Institute of Foreign Affairs (SIFA), Mr. Phinij Jarusombat, President of Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association and Mr. Sanoh Thienthong, former Deputy Prime Minister. They exchanged views on global and regional situation, bilateral relations, people-to- people exchanges and cooperation between CPIFA and SIFAF respectively as well as other issues of mutual interest.
