President Yang Wenchang Met with Former Japanese Ambassador to China Miyamoto Yuji

       On August 25th, President Yang Wenchang met with Amb. Miyamoto Yuji, Former Japanese Ambassador to China in the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA). Secretary General Huang Xingyuan and Deputy Secretary General Tian Peiliang of the CPIFA were present at the meeting.

       President Yang spoke highly of Amb. Miyamoto’s constant efforts on promoting Sino-Japan friendship. President Yang said, Amb. Miyamoto has devoted his life to Sino-Japan friendship, and made great contribution to the healthy development of the bilateral relations. The CPIFA is ready to work closely with the Miyamoto Institute of Asian Studies, which was newly-founded by Amb. Miyamoto, to play a positive role in promoting the development of Sino-Japan relations.

       Amb. Miyamoto said that the people-to-people contact is an important part of the development of Sino-Japan relations. The Miyamoto Institute of Asian Studies will join hands with the CPIFA to establish a communication channel between China and Japan, and offer advice and suggestions to both governments.

       President Yang also exchanged views with Am. Miyamoto on the Sino-Japan relations and the political situations of both countries.
