Delegation of Thai-Chinese Strategic Research Center Held Bilateral Seminar in CPIFA

       At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the delegation of Thai-Chinese Strategic Research Center (TCSRC), headed by Mr. Kanok Wongtrangan, Managing Director of TCSRC and Advisor to the Prime Minister of Thailand, visited Beijing from March 27 to 29. Members of the delegation attended a seminar co-hosted by CPIFA, joined by former Chinese ambassadors to Thailand Mr. Jin Guihua and Mr. Zhang Jiuhuan, and scholars from the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations and the China Institute of Internatinal Studies. Ambassador Cai Jinbiao, Vice-President of CPIFA, chaired the seminar and hosted the following welcoming banquet. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, China-ASEAN cooperation and the current situation in Thailand. Mr. Kanok expressed appreciation of the long-lasting Thai-Chinese friendship and the momentum of growth in bilateral relations. He hoped the two countries could look forward to the future, plan and handle the long-term strategic cooperation while carrying out short-term cooperative projects.

       During their stay in Beijing, members of the delegation also met with Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, and Sun Lanlan, Director General of International Cooperation Department of the Development Research Center of the State Council. Mr. Kanok said that TCSRC was ready to launch joint research and share information with the above two Chinese institutions in trade, investment and food security.
