At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), US Congressional Staff Delegation organized by the US-China Transpacific Foundation visited Beijing, Shenzhen and Foshan from October 7 to 14, 2019. 

In Beijing, Amb. Zhao Weiping, Vice President of the CPIFA, and Counselor Liu Jun from Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the delegation respectively and exchange views on China-US relations and other issues of common interest. The delegation also had a discussion with scholars from China Institute for International Strategic Studies.

In Shenzhen, Mr. Zhong Jiajun, Vice Director-General of Shenzhen Municipal Foreign Affairs Office met with the delegation. The delegation visited Huawei Company, BYD Company, Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and the Exhibition Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening Up of Guangdong Province. The delegation also had discussions with teachers and students from Shenzhen University and scholars from China Development Institute.

In Foshan, Mrs. Liu Shan, Vice Chairwoman of Standing Committee of Foshan Municipal People’s Congress met with the delegation and briefed them on local economic and social development. The delegation also visited Zinan Village and Corun New Energy Company to learn about local poverty alleviation situation.
