Vice President Li Jie attended the RCEP Media & Think Tank Forum

Amb. Li Jie, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), attended the opening ceremony and plenary meeting of the RCEP Media and Think Tank Forum via video link in Beijing on May 29,2021. 
The forum was sponsored by CPIFA, the Publicity Department of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, China Daily, China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) in a hybrid format of on-site participation and video link in Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province, and co-organized by Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies.
At the opening ceremony, H. E. Mr. Keo Puth Reasmey, former Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia made special remarks via pre-recorded video. Mr. Wang Bin, Member of the Standing Committee and Director-General of the Publicity Department of CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, Mr. Qu Yingpu, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of China Daily, Amb. Li Jie, Vice President of CPIFA, and Prof. Chi Fulin, President of CIRD delivered remarks respectively.
The theme of the forum was “Working Together for Common Development”. After the opening ceremony, scholars and experts from RCEP member countries exchanged their views in such sessions as “Jointly Open a New Chapter in Economic Cooperation Among RCEP Member Countries”, “RCEP: New Prospects for Post-pandemic Balanced Regional Recovery and Integrated Development”, “Opportunities and Prospects for High-level Cooperation Between China and ASEAN Under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” and “Cooperation in Blue Economy and Sustainable Ocean Development”. More than 300 audience were present online and offline, including representatives from Chinese and foreign Think Tanks and Media, Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat, ASEAN-China Centre, and diplomatic envoys of related countries.
