On May 25, the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the Great Britain China Center (GBCC) co-hosted the online Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of China-UK Ambassadorial Diplomatic Relations. Mr. Wang Chao, President of the CPIFA, and Rt. Hon. Sir Oliver Letwin, Vice President of the GBCC, delivered the opening and closing remarks respectively. 

Over 10 delegates from the Chinese and UK sides exchanged in-depth views on “China-UK relations: past, present and future”. The two sides agree that over the past half century, great achievements have been made in our bilateral relations, with fruitful results in our practical cooperation in various fields. Standing at the new historical juncture, it is vital that we continue to enhance people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, consolidate the foundation for friendly cooperation, and promote the sustained development of our bilateral relations.

The CPIFA and the GBCC also exchanged views on their potential cooperation.
